Some easy to follow tips for styling your product descriptions or Blog posts using some very Basic HTML
This post is intended to be of use to anyone just starting out with their first online venture who has little or no experience of using HTML code.
All Shopping Cart and Blogging Software require the user to have some HTML knowledge to format the text and graphics that they want to post on their site, wether it’s to format the text layout, colour and size, add additional images or create link text or images. Most cart or blogging software have the WYSIWYG (what you see is what you get) editing facilities inbuilt to their Admin Panels but we realise that even these can be a minefield to a novice.
Getting familiar with the basic Html codes or ‘tags’ is a must and is well worth the effort as there is nothing more off-putting to a potential customer on your site than seeing blocks of unstyled text and images in random positions or links not formatted properly that don’t work.
It’s worth pointing out that your Shopping Cart software or Blog software will have the styles for various HTML tags already defined within the CSS (Cascading Style Sheet) files so by using some of the following tags within your text you are telling your software to implement these styles that are already defined, a bit like a prompt to your software, telling it what you are trying to achieve with the appearance of your text, images or links.
